Road Closure Extension – Beckjord Road

Beckjord Road Detour – Pierce Township – ROAD CLOSURE EXTENSION

Pursuant to Section 5543.17 of the Ohio Revised Code, I have determined that a road closure is necessary on Beckjord Road, as it is impractical to construct a temporary highway, culvert, or bridge. The closure is needed so that the contractor can transport material from the old Beckjord Power Plant to their dump site on Beckjord Road.

The closure was scheduled to open on Friday, October 13, 2023. The contractor has requested an extension of the closure. We will extend the closure to through traffic from 7AM to 4PM until Friday, January 12, 2024. The closure is located between US 52 and Nelp Road on Beckjord Road. The length of the detour is approximately 2.46 or 12,985 feet.

The Office of the Clermont County Engineer shall notify the Communication Center and other affected agencies. All advanced warning and detour signs will be erected and maintained for this project. The contractor will maintain all signage. Attached is the recommended detour.
