Zoning Commission

The Zoning Commission is an administrative board consisting of seven members, two of which are alternates, who are appointed by the Board of Trustees and are residents of the unincorporated areas of Pierce Township. The Zoning Commission is tasked with reviewing developments and zoning regulations and providing recommendations to the Board of Trustees. The terms of the members are of such length and arranged so that the term of one member expires each year. If you are interested in serving, please complete an online application.

Board of Zoning Appeals

The Board of Zoning Appeals is an administrative board consisting of seven members, two of which are designated as alternates, who are appointed by the Board of Trustees. Only residents of Pierce Township can serve on the Board and cannot hold any other public office or position within Pierce Township. The Board is tasked with reviewing Variances, Conditional Use Permits and Appeals. Members are appointed to the Board for a five year term, while alternates are appointed for two year terms. Terms are staggered so that only one Board member’s term expires each year.
