Aggregation program information for former Amelia customers

May 19, 2020

Amelia area residents are receiving opt-out notices from the suppliers chosen after energy aggregation was approved by voters in November of 2018.  The mailing list was provided by Duke Energy to our energy suppliers with Dynegy and IGS and has included some residents in both Pierce and Batavia Townships.  Unfortunately, Pierce Township staff were not provided an opportunity to review the list.  Here is a link to additional information regarding the Pierce Township Energy Aggregation Program:  https://piercetownship.org/electric-gas-aggregation/

The deadline for Pierce Township properties in Amelia to opt-out is June 5th.  If you were sent a notice in error, or have additional questions regarding the aggregation program, please call the Township office at 752-6262 option #0.

After the June 5th deadline to opt-out, another mailing will be sent directly from Duke advising customers that they are being switched to a new supplier and to call them if they did not approve the change.  The rules and regulations for energy aggregation programs are managed through PUCO, the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio.  We apologize for the confusion regarding the aggregation program that has recently become available to Pierce residents formerly located in the corporate limits of Amelia.
