About The Department

The Service Department currently maintains 57.402 miles of roads in the township.  They are responsible for the maintenance needs of all township roads and their corresponding right-of-ways. Some of the services performed include asphalt patching, crack sealing, roadside ditch cleaning, chip sealing, gravel road grading, dust control application, installation and maintenance of all signage, roadside mowing, snow and ice control, roadside shoulder repair, tree & brush trimming and dead animal removal from road right-of-ways, and storm water drainage system (culverts, ditches, storm basins) repair.  A road cut permit will need to be completed when requesting to cut into a township road along with a $50.00 fee.  Click here for a road cut permit.

In addition, the department maintains township owned buildings and open spaces including two parks and a cemetery.  This includes mowing, trimming, installing footers, open/closing of the graves, and maintenance of two ball fields. 

The Service Department wears many hats in the township and strives to provide quality services to the township community. The department operates with five full time employees and one part time employee. When you see the Service Department employees out on the roads, please be cautious and slow down for their safety and yours.
