At their July meeting, the Pierce Township Trustees unanimously passed a Resolution to allow the voters to consider the renewal of the waste levy that will expire in December 2017.
In order to continue this service, the current waste levy is proposed for renewal at 2.3 mills ($2.30 per $1,000 of taxable value) for a period of five years beginning January 2018 through December 2022. There is no increase in millage proposed by this renewal.
This levy would continue to pay the operational costs of residential waste collection, recycling and brush/debris removal currently provided to our residents. Pierce currently contracts with Rumpke to provide curbside recycling and trash collection services.
