12-09-2008 - Pierce Township Detective Michael Buckler is awarded Master Criminal Investigator Certificate through the Ohio Peace Officer Training Commission. This certificate encompasses 192 hours of training in a wide range of topic (i.e. Sex Crimes, Death Investigation, Drug Identification, Photography for Investigators and many more). This achievement is only obtained by less that 1% of all police officers in the State of Ohio.
In addition, the Township Trustees, at the December meeting recognized Det. Buckler achievement in this certificate and his years of great service.

10-29-2008 - Pierce Township organizes and holds Pumpkin Day Event for the community. This event was attended by over 150 children.
10-21-2008 - Pierce Township Police Department helps organize and participate in the 4th Annual Blood Drive to benefit Rebecca Bennett, a daughter of Lt. Mike Bennett (Police Department).
10-08-2008 - Pierce Township Police Department participates in "Operation Opiate Blocker". This roundup of drug dealers and users who was performed after extensive drug investigations by the Clermont County Narcotics Unit. There was a total of 61 persons charged and over 185 criminal counts.
The investigation of many of these criminal charges involved prescription drugs and the use of grant funds from NAADI and Abbott Labs were used to provide a Pierce Township Police Officer to the Clermont County Narcotics Unit full-time to investigate these type of offenses.
