Color A Cop

The "Color A Cop" program was created by P.O. Laetitia Schuler as a tribute to those officers honored during National Police Week and as a way to have a positive impact our students.

National Police Week is a collaborative effort between many organizations dedicated to honoring the service and sacrifice of America's law enforcement community. Principal organizers of National Police Week are -

  • National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund (NLEOMF), which sponsors the annual Candlelight Vigil at the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial.

  • Fraternal Order of Police/Fraternal Order of Police Auxiliary (FOP/FOPA), which organize the Peace Officers Memorial Day Service at the U.S. Capitol.

  • Concerns of Police Survivors (COPS), which holds the National Police Survivors' Conference.

Each year the schools in Pierce Township participate in the Color A Cop program as a tribute to those officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice.  The students create a picture of themselves with a Pierce Township police officer in art class.  The winners are announced at school and receive a prize, along with their art work displayed at the police department.
